The story behind besties
Some companies are born in boardrooms – ours was born in between Slack messages, shared back-to-back meetings, and the bond of two people trying to get through the 3 p.m. slump. Kayla and Irene were work besties in the corporate world and like many, they started to feel the fatigue from the constant grind. They both felt it was time to start building something truly different.
Stemming from a small, but persistent personal problem during her workouts, Kayla couldn’t find a single drink that met her needs. Like many, she needed something before her workouts to give her sustained energy. She also needed another drink during her workout for both hydration and focus. From energy drinks to hydration formulas, there was nothing she could find that combined everything she needed, including the refreshing taste that she craved.
What began as a personal fix quickly became a full-blown dream: to create a functional beverage for everyone that meets real needs, fits real lives, and helps people feel their best.
We’ve built a brand born out of friendship, fuelled by shared frustration, and powered by the belief that wellness should be functional, inclusive and fun. Sometimes doing things differently is the best decision you’ll ever make. This is just the beginning.
